The Icebreaker Team

Icebreaker Management Services Limited acts as administrator and advisor to all the existing Icebreaker LLPs, and offers this expertise to future LLPs.

Caroline Hamilton
Caroline is the Managing Director of Icebreaker Management Services Ltd. The Icebreaker business model is her brainchild and she has been its principal architect since inception.

Throughout her career, Caroline has been involved with enabling small businesses to grow and with exploiting know how and other rights. For many years, she was a financier to the film and television industry, and before that she was a member of the structured finance team at Dresdner Kleinwort.

Caroline is also well known as a speaker and polar explorer. She was leader of the only all-woman expedition to ski to the North and South Poles. This involved masterminding the expeditions’ sponsorship and marketing strategies, as well as travelling through the most extreme conditions on earth. Previously Caroline was instrumental in developing gap insurance for the film and television industry. During ten years as an advisor to insurance companies, she was involved with more than fifty international productions.

Caroline graduated in 1985 with a Natural Sciences degree from Girton College, Cambridge, where she was also a triple blue.

Tim Jeynes
Tim is a Director of Icebreaker Management Services Limited. He has worked with Caroline since 1996 and with Icebreaker LLPs since the first LLP was formed in 2004.
Tim heads the LLP account management team at Icebreaker Management Services Limited and he is also responsible for much of the day-to-day administration of the Icebreaker LLPs.

Tim has 20 years experience of the know how and creative industries. His previous senior positions include sales and marketing for ICAP, which successfully pioneered new global interbank foreign exchange dealing and broking software systems. Tim was also an important member of Spottiswoode & Spottiswoode, which launched and sold the Blueprint range of software packages to companies throughout the UK.

Tim has considerable experience of the film and television industry. He has coordinated numerous Section 48 ‘sale and leaseback’ transactions, and been involved with the structuring and monitoring of a large number of film and television risks for insurance companies.

Tim graduated in 1986 with a Geography degree from St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge.

William Brilliant
Will is Company Secretary of IMSL. He qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and in Australia, and in 2008, he joined IMSL from Clifford Chance in London.

Will is head of business and legal affairs. He is involved with preparing agreements and drafting contracts in relation to the LLPs’ projects, and assisting with the resolution of commercial issues as and when they arise. He has also played a central role in helping parties to prepare for hearings at the Tax Tribunal.

Previously, Will was seconded to the group legal team of Barclays Bank plc, and was a solicitor at DLA Phillips Fox. He played a major part in several high profile film finance matters involving Hollywood Studios, as well as in cases involving international banks and insurance companies. In Australia, Will worked on intellectual property disputes, including a dispute over medical patents between the University of Western Australia and a major public company.

Will graduated in 1999 with an English Literature degree and in 2001 with a Law degree, both from the University of Sydney.

Anna Draycott, Hannah Barttelot, Laura Hallam and Yorkabel Soquar
Between them, Anna, Hannah, Laura and Yorkabel have nearly 20 years’ experience of working with members of Icebreaker LLPs. They form the backbone of Icebreaker Management Services LLP account management team.

The LLP account management team is responsible for looking after existing and new LLPs. Throughout the life of each LLP, Anna, Hannah, Laura and Yorkabel are on hand to enable Members to communicate with each other and to assist them in participating in the trading activities of the LLP. They are also responsible for arranging meetings of the LLP and its Members, ensuring that the necessary representatives attend from the Principal Exploitation Company and its subcontractors, and that all the LLPs’ requirements are met. The LLP account management team works with prospective Members and the various parties involved with closing the financing of each LLP. More recently, Yorkabel has been closely involved with various LLPs that have successfully sold their businesses to a third party.

Yorkabel graduated in 2002 with a History and Economics degree from Manchester University. Anna graduated in 2004 with a Law and Psychology degree from the University of the West of England, Bristol. Hannah graduated in 2003 with a Social Science degree from Brighton University and Laura graduated in 2007 with a Psychology degree from Durham University.

Matt Hodson and Jay Blackman
Matt and Jay are consultants and are key members of the Icebreaker Management Services LLP sales team. Matt has been involved with Icebreaker LLPs for more than six years. He has been instrumental in enabling LLPs to raise significant amounts of Capital Contributions, and ensuring that independent financial advisors and other professional advisors are kept up-to-date with information on the progress of LLPs. Previously, Matt was a manager at Drummonds Bank, and was responsible for providing loans to enable investors to become members of Icebreaker LLPs and other limited liability partnerships.

Jay joined the sales team in 2008, having previously run his own residential lettings agency, and been a mortgage advisor giving independent mortgage advice.

Matt started his career as a professional footballer. He was trained through the youth system at Wycombe Wanderers and became a senior player there before moving to Hayes FC. He made frequent appearances in the non-League premier division and was also part of the England Schoolboys set up.

Jay’s qualifications include Certificates in Mortgage Advice and Practice.
